I have finished my husband's socks. Unfortunately, I can't try blocking them at the moment, as there is nowhere I can leave them to dry in hiding, so there is no way to alleviate my concern that they might not fit. They fit me OK over another pair of socks, and are just a bit long for me, but I have small feet, so that likely won't be quite good enough unless they relax enough with a wash. Aaargh. Oh well, too late to worry about it, and too early to know.
Anyway, they're soft, warm, and rather dashing, and are the Eesti Trail Hiking Socks by Nancy Bush, knit up in Patons Classic Wool. If they don't fit my husband, I'll just have to wear them myself.
I am almost finished with Christmas knitting for this year, and I only gave up on one set of mittens that wasn't playing nicely with me. I just finished up a monkey from the pattern Mischievious Monkeys by Melissa Hicks.
Now all I have to do is edge a pillow and stitch on a snowflake (again, I am not looking forward to the sewing part).
I've started a pair of smaller socks for an early January birthday, and am enjoying the luxury of feeling that I have all sorts of time to knit them, even though that's not strictly true. They're being knit up in Regia's 'Flusi Das Socken Monster' and I love the colours.
Those are smashing socks!!
