Teacher Gifts, and a Dash to the Finish Line

I finished knitting/sewing/baking/wrapping teacher gifts just in time to send them to school yesterday! However, I was also busy sewing for the rest of the day, so I didn't get around to blogging, but I did take a few photos.

My youngest wanted me to knit for her teacher the cell phone case from 30 Min-Knits: What Can You Knit in Half an Hour or Less? , but I thought it could use something a bit more fun than the polka-dots for embellishment, so I had my daughter look through some embroidery ideas for me. She chose an owl, and I think it's just the thing!

The music teacher and the Educational Assistant received birds, and my elder's teacher received the cat. We also gave out mint patties and sponge toffee to go with these.

I made handwarmers out of red flannel for another teacher. I don't have a picture of those, but I am making another set, so here is an in-progress photo of the next ones I'm working on:
They will need to be stuffed with rice, slip-stitched closed, and labelled with the instructions for microwaving.

In other news, the tuque is complete, and mitten thumbs are up next! I also have a few gifts I'm working on for my husband, but I'm a little worried I won't get them done on time. I've run out of yarn for the one gift (and have ordered more), so one out of three won't be done, but I have hopes that I can finish the other two (the sewn gift and the edible one) in time. That and the mittens for that matter. Wish me luck!
